Teacher Qualities

A teacher is a model. So, the teacher has to apply a good attitude to his pupils. Every movement of the teacher will be followed by the students. Teacher holds a big responsibility to his students. Besides she or he has to transfer knowledge to his students, she or he also need to let them know about moral; therefore in the future her or his student will become a smart person with good moral. Moreover, teacher is a precious job. She or he shares what he knows to everyone without hope for the feedback. However, a teacher should have at least three qualities; intelligent; creative; friendly.

First, She or he must be intelligent. For example, the teacher have to master the subject. She or he must understand what are going to teach. Another example, she or he can be a be motivator. She or he have to understand what are pupil’s need, like motivate them to love the subject. Moreover, a teacher need to has interpersonal skill, especially the ability to show empathy, giving appreciation and compliment to motivate students, and also teacher need to has sincerity in teaching and learning activity, because it makes class activity become easier and more enjoyable. Beside the inteligent about the subject, teacher also need to has the ability to routinely facing students who do not have the attention, like interrupting, changing the subject or what we were talking about, and capable of providing a transition to teaching, so they will not feel bored in class.

Second, She or he must be a creative person. Creativity is a mental process involving the appearance of a new idea or concept. Therefore, to create an interesting class the teacher need to be creative to find how the way to make students want to study and they comfortable in class. For instance, she or he can creates an interesting way to teach. They can make students cheerful and not lazy to study. Another instance, she or he can produce something different, like making a new games or produce a new idea. Another way, teacher also may bring the real object to the class to catch student’s attention, and sometime to teach listening, teacher may play the movie or song, and to make them relax once in while teacher may do teaching and learning activity outside the class.
Last but not least, she or he must be friendly. Sometime teacher only put himself or herself only as a transferor of knowledge which makes teacher more focused on material only; nevertheless teacher also need to be close to their children, she or he has to create a good relationship between students. In another word, teacher must be friendly. Friend here has a broad sense, the friend in question is sometimes teacher can be parents, sister, friend who has a very close relationship with his or her students. As a friend, of course, he has to know all the things about his student. He strives to be the best listener, and give solution to stucebt’s problem. Another way to build a good relationship with students, she or he has to memorize student’s name, because when the teacher mentions their name, they will very happy. Another example, she or he always keep smilling. As a teacher, she or he must be patient althought students are very stubborn. Furthermore, teacher should respect the right of students to speak in any discussion.

In short, the teacher is a model. So that, the teacher must be a perfect person in front of the students. Although the teacher have to show a perfect characteristic in front of the studends, she or he also have to ask appologize to the students if there are mistake in teaching. Become a techer is fun and easier. Only need our brain to make it all simple. To be a teacher at least she or he must apply three qualities above; intelligent, creative and friendly.
